Antivirus installed from USB.?

Hi there...

Wondering if anyone could be so kind as to help me out on one, please.

I am helping out a friend (or at least trying) to install some anti virus so on and so forth onto their computer.

They use dial-up and we're having major problems. The question is : can anyone recommend a good free product I could install from a USB drive or something? If this is a sensible way of doing things.

Thanks in anticipation.

You can put any anti-virus product on a USB drive and slot it into another persons computer. I would recommend using AVG Antivirus.

Antivirus installed from USB.?product key

Don't use AVG.

Download the Avira program from http://free-av.com/ and copy it to a usb key, then download the latest vdf from http://www.avira.com/en/threats/section/...

In the Avira window, click the Update menu and choose manual update, then choose the vdf file you downloaded.

After that, update from the internet.

I would also recommend Spyware Terminator (http://www.spywareterminator.com/ ) for anti-spyware; you can download the database on the download page if you need to.

Any install package will run off a usb key; if you need a firewall try http://tallemu.com/free-firewall-protect...
Dr.Web CureIt...

is a standalone anti-virus and anti-spyware scanner that scans your PC for viruses, trojans, adware, spyware, hack tools, rootkits, and other malware.

The program does not require an installation and can be run from a USB drive.

This is an on-demand scanner only, it can detect and remove virus infections but does not provide any real-time protection. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/cureit.html
