Popups on computer?

A few years ago I kept getting popups nothing even popup blockers shut them off.I remember I had to check something on windows to shut them off but I can not remember what.I hope some one can help because I am having same problem.Also Looking for a free antivirus.I do have a popup blocker but it is not keeping them off

2) Do an online virus scan to check and remove virus and spyware if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

Internet Explorer has a built in popup blocker if you go to Tools --%26gt; Internet Options --%26gt;Privacy tab and check it. If you have adware on your machine you will still get popups though. Try downloading and running spybot or adaware. Free adware/malware/spyware removal tools.

get google toolbar or also yahoo toolbard works very well also......just type either of these into google and you can download them for free
Some of the popups you are getting may be spyware. You need Avast 4 Home or AVG 7.5 Antivirus, and SpyBot and Ad-Aware anti-spyware. All are free. Then get Google's toolbar which contains the best popup blocker there is. If you're using Internet Explorer, click on Tools then Popup Blocker and make sure it's turned on.

try to install good antimalware program (XoftSpy, AdAdware, NOD)
Try new Yahoo pop up blocker. Me too tried to download it but something blocked downloding.I will try again and let u know the result
